Lifestyle Photography in Sydney: Cherish this Day June 20th
On this day, we went to the Powerhouse Museum. You had visited the museum for a school excursion, and you begged us to return. You asked every weekend, “Can we go? Can we go?” However we were busy with sport and other activities. Finally, we had a free day. You were so excited, and I could see how proud you felt that we listened.
We started our day in the city with a lunch of typical Australian street food. It was so delicious as we sat on the steps of the museum to eat. You then led us into the museum and we followed you. You pointed out all the attractions, and showed us why you loved this museum so much.
It was a fun-filled day, and we were tired and grateful that you asked us to take you back.

Last weekend, our Nanny came to visit. She brought with her a new recipe for “lemonade scones” that she was excited to try. Scones are not something that I make when I am baking. I usually bake cupcakes, muffins or cookies. I was excited to learn this recipe as much as my girls.
As she started the recipe, our Nanny chatted about her Mum and how she could whip up a batch of scones in no time. How if friends popped over, she would have the scones in the oven before they even sat down. She reminisced about her fluffy and soft the scones. My girls listened to their grandmother talk about her mother, their Dad’s Nanny. In that moment they made a connection to a wonderful lady, even though they are too young to remember their great grandmother. That is the power of cooking. It can evoke memories long forgotten, and create family traditions. Recipes can be past down, and shared with family members who are too young to remember.
So while we whipped the cream, and set the table for afternoon tea, we also made memories for my girls to share when they are older.
If you have a recipe that you like to bake with your children, or grandchildren, then let’s chat about capturing the moment with a lifestyle session in your home. You can email me at cindy@image421photography.com for all the information.

So what happens when you decide to investigate the place that you drive past everyday. The place that looks like a garden with a picket fence, that you have assumed is someone’s home. The place that you finally saw the sign that is covered by branches which reads ” Lillian Fraser’s Garden”. The place that you immediately thought of when your girls ask, ” Can we go to the park?”. Sydney Family Portraits: 30 minutes in the life May 2014
One of the many images that appeared in my news feed last week was an image of a field of sunflowers. Sigh! I would love a portrait session in a field of sunflowers, and it is on my “must-do” session list. The image reminded me to investigate the possibilities close to home, so I hopped on to Google to find the closest farm. Sadly, I found out it is over 480km (300 miles) away. Mmmmm! So maybe that wasn’t a possibility for the weekend. (more…)

With the children on holidays, we decided to visit some of the tourist icons in Sydney. It was a way for us to get to know our new home a little better. This is something that we learnt when living in Brazil, and getting out to see the sites has become part of our family time together. (more…)

On this day, we went into the city. We caught the train, and walked through the empty streets on Good Friday. We found the Botanical Gardens, and enjoyed a picnic on the lawn. Then we found this tree. It was grand, and old. Many children have been attracted to climb the limbs, and run around the huge trunk. You were no exception.
We then walked by the harbour and caught the train home at sunset. It was a day to cherish.
