Ten on Ten : April
Light! I am so in love with light. Sun flare! Backlight! Dreamy! Hazy! Oh, Please! I love it all! We have a small yard in our backyard. It is not terribly big at all. However, it is perfect for catching dreamy and hazy light in the afternoon. It has become on of my go-to spots when I need a backlight fix. I grab a stool, and I beg one of my children to sit down. ” Just for 5 minutes, PLEASE! ” With the start of Autumn and the end of daylight savings, the afternoon light is gorgeous, and ‘the stool and begging” routine is happening often. My peeps are extremely accommodating, and I am grateful!
My “10 on 10” this month is all about the light that I have found in and around our home. Enjoy!

Mummy Moment: blossoming into girlhood
2nd Birthday: favourite child portrait
2nd birthday: light
My inspiration is light. If I could shoot every session with soft and gold light, then I would be one happy girl. That is not always the reality with families schedules, weather, and locations. However, I love it and will always be inspired by it.
2nd Birthday: Favourite baby bumps
2nd Birthday: Favourite family portraits
2nd Birthday celebration
It is image421 photography 2nd birthday. WOW! 2 years! I cannot believe it. I have learnt so much, and I continue to grow. It is so true when you do something that you love then it does not feel like work. I seriously do put countless hours into my photography, and it is always by choice. I hope it always stays that way.
Big imagination, make believe and play are the what I love to capture in children’s portraits. What better way to do that than with a teepee. My extraordinarily talented friend made this incredible teepee. My girls and I enjoyed an indoor session on a rainy afternoon. We made the teepee all pretty, but this is for girls and boys. It is so much fun, and we have all enjoyed time in the teepee. It is a great prop, and it encourages so much imagination that they do not realise it is a portrait session.
Prize: A 90 miniute children’s portrait session, and 15-25 edited images saved on a USB. The prize is valid until Friday the 3rd of May, 2013. (Note Teepee is not included in the prize, and remains the property of image421 photography)Click on the link. It is super easy to enter.
