the wonder of childhood
lovely in Pink: children’s portrait session
This session is all pink. From the outfits to the decorations, we went all out pink. Why not? This gorgeous girl is the youngest of 4, and she has 3 older brothers. Of course, her Mum loves giving her the princess treatment, and all princesses love the colour pink.
Lucy Mae is fast approaching her second birthday and Jill wanted to capture all of her details at this precious age. It was a celebration of the start of her toddler years, as she waves goodbye to the baby stage. When we met, Lucy Mae was a little shy and reserved. She stood behind her Mum’s legs and looked at me out of the corner of her eye. Seeing her reservation, we played with the pink balloons to break the ice, and it worked wonders. We played with rose petals and ran in the long grass. We then changed Lucy into a pretty grey tutu dress and sat her on a shabby chic bench with a pretty posy of white flowers. She posed for two seconds, and then the flowers became a bomb and went whizzing through the air. With sound effects! We laughed out loud, and that posy was never a posy again. Yes, we could use all pink, give her the princess treatment, but this little girl has her own personality.
As we packed up and walked to the car, Lucy Mae said ” Thank you! I love you”. My heart melted, and I knew that I had made a new friend.
I am happy to share these images with you. Enjoy!
